Dee Monroe died on the 4 th of April.

I have spoken with Victor Stanley, Dee’s life-partner and exchanged emails with Scott,
Dee’s brother. Victor reported that Dee died in his bed at home while sleeping. Victor
characterized Dee’s death as “the best way to die”, peacefully. Dee ’s extensive
medical history included battles with cancer and MERSA.

Dee and Victor lived in West Palm Beach, Florida, having moved there from Maine
about five years ago.

Dee had a career as a vice president at the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City
working as a lobbyist and an executive assistant to David Rockefeller, the chairman.
Scott reported that when Dee was turning 70 RockefelIer called to ask what Dee was
doing to celebrate. Unsatisfied with what Dee had planned, Rockefeller flew his
helicopter into NYC and scooped up Dee and Victor for a weekend of festivities. In
retirement in Maine, Dee was a board member/overseer to a large, Rockefeller family
formal garden in Seal Port, near Bar Harbor. Victor was a Unitarian minister with a local
congregation. Judy and I have visited with them in Maine.
