I recently spoke with Andy's brother John -LFHS '61.

Tragically, Andy was killed in Chicago in 1976.

The Andy I knew for twenty years was a spirited, intense, innocent idealist with a passion for life.

As kids we shared a lot: expulsion from the church choir for knocking over all the girls' bicycles, a lawn service, baseball, playing in Jerry Eiserman's back lot with the  North Avenue gang, the role of the sub-five foot, sixth man on the junior high basketbll team (if we both got to play, the game was over for one team or another), a morning paper route we inherited form Laura Enos' brother John, and featherweights on the freshman wrestling team ( the two of us together didn't weigh two hundred pounds). As I remember it, he broke his arm during an August football pratice, but was ready for wrestling in November.

His father was an Army lawyer and the family would  periodically move out of Lake Bluff. He graduated from high school in Stuttgart, Germany. He studied engineering and urban affairs at the University of Illinois.
